Data storage options for Kubernetes
Here's a high-level refresher on persistent storage options for K8 workloads. Note: there are a lot of techniques and ways to store data. These are just two popular examples.
Database storage - For example, a mysql or postgres SQL database running on a server that is separate from your cluster. Or perhaps leveraging a managed database service like Azure SQL, Amazon RDS, etc.
Kubernetes Persistent Volumes - This is a type of data storage that exists in the cluster and remain even after a pod is destroyed. You can use a Kubernetes object called a "stateful set" to make sure your updated application can communicate with the same volume as the previous pod.
