Two-Minute App Review: Monster Hunter Now
This is what I wanted Pokémon Go to be

Disclaimer: I'm still in the middle of reviewing this game. Final verdict is pending...
I think I may have found my new favorite mobile GPS game. I know, I know - there's significant irony in that statement considering that immediately prior to that sentence is a disclaimer about how I'm still reviewing it.... So yeah, it's entirely possible that my opinion may change. But for now, Monster Hunter Now is a fun game. Here's why:
Pros:
- Nice graphics. Pokémon Go was fun but the graphics seemed a bit dated to me. In contrast, Monster Hunter Now takes a more realistic approach (which translates into a more engaging experience - IMHO).
- Simply and practical controls. The game mechanic controls in this one are very straight-forward: Swipe to dodge, tap to attack. There's a little bit of subtlety related timing attacks but it's all very accessible and quick to pick up. Yay!
Neutral:
- Story is meh. The overall plot (thus far) is OK but not very memorable. I don't really feel very connected to the story.
- Potentially repetitive. The game is engaging now, but I do have some concerns that it will get tedious/boring later. We'll have to see how that pans out.
Cons:
None
